Indomethacin Suppository
pharmacological action :
It has antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandin (PG).

Indications of indomethacin:
The clinical indications of indomethacin include:
Continuous migraine, ankylosing spondylitis, gouty arthritis, Barthel's syndrome, bursitis, cryoglobulinemia, dysmenorrhea, exertional headache, fever and pain caused by malignant diseases, sleeping headache, juvenile arthritis, migraine, patent ductus arteriosus, nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, osteoarthritis, Paget's disease, paroxysmal migraine, pericarditis, primary Severe headache, pseudogout, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, renal colic (pain caused by kidney stones), retinopathy of prematurity, rheumatoid arthritis, tendinitis, headache caused by Valsalva maneuver
Indomethacin has also been used clinically to delay preterm birth, reduce amniotic fluid in case of excessive amniotic fluid, and close patent ductus arteriosus.
Usage and dosage:
Rectal administration, 50 mg / time, 50-100 mg / day, generally 10 days as a course of treatment.
Adverse reactions:
1.Common side effects are gastrointestinal reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, ulcers, and sometimes cause gastric bleeding and perforation, as well as rash, asthma and so on.
2.The incidence of headache and vertigo is high. If headache persists, the drug should be stopped.
3.Jaundice, elevated transaminase, neutropenia, and occasionally aplastic anemia may occur.
taboo:
Patients with ulcers, tremor paralysis, psychosis, epilepsy, bronchial asthma, renal insufficiency, and pregnant women should not use it. Children should use it with caution.

It is cross allergic to aspirin and should not be used for those allergic to aspirin.
